FAQ's

Everyone has questions — therapy included. This page covers some of the most common things we’re asked, from sessions and insurance to what getting started looks like. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to help.

HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?

Sessions can range from 30 to 60 minutes. We generally recommend 60-minute sessions when possible, as they allow time to settle in and make meaningful progress. If you choose a shorter session, we can go over rates and options before you get started.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?

Many of our therapists accept BCBS, BCN, UnitedHealthcare, and Aetna — but not every clinician accepts every plan. Please call to confirm what plans each provider is in-network with. We also see self-pay clients via credit card, check, or cash. For out-of-network insurance, we can provide a super bill for you to submit to your carrier for possible reimbursement, though that is not guaranteed. Always check with your insurance company about your coverage before beginning.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A THERAPY SESSION?

Therapy is different for everyone, but you can generally expect a listening ear, a private and safe space, evidence-based methods and techniques, and thoughtful support tailored to your needs. It’s normal to feel nervous at first — and you’re welcome to try a session without feeling obligated to continue if it doesn’t feel like the right time.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

Our office is newly located at 7202 Midland Rd Freeland, MI 48623, and we also offer teletherapy so you can work with a therapist from the comfort of your own space.

DO YOU HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION?

If you have additional questions or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to call or email — we’d be happy to help.
